By this point in the story >!Jun (the male character) has long since acknowledged that tomo is a girl. He was basically feigning ignorance. It’s a very wholesome romcom with good character development and great chemistry between the characters. When you look at the title it basically tricks you into thinking it’s a slow burn tease into several awkward situations where it’s obvious she’s a girl but it seems the story isn’t that per se. It’s more or less about both these friends learning to move past their current relationship as playful friends but accepting one another feelings and jun is scared about truly accepting the girl non-tomboyish side of tomo of whom he also has feelings for. He’s scared of being vulnerable in that way and also of their relationship ultimately changing but it’s only a matter of time since they’re both starting to become more and more vulnerable!<
