I don’t typically over-analyse or gush about the hentai I read but there was something about this one that really stood out to me. Whenever I read hentai, I don’t expect a particularly logical or natural flow of the progression within the story, from being friends/acquaintances to sex.
However, I feel this story really sets these two characters up in a manner that felt all too real. Two awkward co-workers unsure of how to further their relationship beyond a professional capacity and long harboured feelings that surface only to be pushed right back down the instant they rear their heads.
I loved how Emi-san completely flopped at sexy talk out of frustration with the status quo and how Tanabe tried to downplay his own feelings. The dialogue was stiff but intentionally so. At some point, I forgot I was reading hentai and instead a recount of someone’s first experience; awkward and a little quiet. Because love doesn’t need words. There were no huge displays of affection, but, that only made what the characters did say all the more sweeter. The way the story ended left me only desiring to see more of this couple and how they would progress by taking those days off to be together and finally make up for all that lost time. It being a senpai-kouhai story was really the icing on the cake for me.
In the end, my only qualm would be that SGK has few other stories out there and, judging from them, they have a strong skill in crafting natural characters. I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did… but maybe I wrote too much lol.
